Jenson Adventure, Day Four

March 15, 2012

Woke up to a fabulous breakfast at the convent again.  We had to get pictures with the nuns that were so very nice to us.  We just LOVE them...

Then we packed up the cars and headed out to drive the SR 222 south through Tuscany.  Danika and Savannah sang to us much of the way J The views in Tuscany were incredible even though it is still winter and nothing is in bloom yet.  It was a beautiful drive with many stops for pictures.

We stopped in Sienna for lunch in the piazza, and of course some gelato too!

Then it was time to drive to Perugia.  It was funny, because as soon as we got near town, I instantly felt at home, a really comforting feeling.  I can’t believe that it feels like home in such a short time.  We took the Jensons to their hotel, which is just two blocks from our place.  Then we all came to the apartment to hang out while Dave and David returned the rental car.

Then it was off to dinner at our favorite local pizza place, Pizza Mediterania.

It didn’t open until 7:30 p.m., so we took them to see the kids’ school first.  It was a really nice walk through the center of Perugia, and the evening was beautiful.

When we arrived for dinner, they had a table for 10 waiting and it was facing the brick oven where they cook the pizzas.

The boys were fascinated by the guy making the pizzas… he was really fast.

In no time our pizzas arrived and everyone dug in.  We each had our own pizza, so we probably (definitely??) ate way too much, but it was really good.

Then it was off to our favorite gelataria, Grom.  This eating gelato twice a day has got to stop, or I will have to buy a new wardrobe while I’m here.

All too soon, it was time for us to tuck in.  Savannah and Ashton stayed at our place and Danika and Jason couldn’t have been happier.  They kids were great, and went to bed rather easily, which was nice as we had to get up early the next morning.
